"He has the ability to observe both land and seascapes and captures colour and mood in a manner that imbues his small scale works with the sense and an interpretation of nature in its truest form. With a driving ambition to convey a sense of place his works draw heavily on light and tone."

Landscape and Still Life Paintings
Following a degree in graphic design, Alistair Erskine enjoys a career as a freelance decorative artist for internationally known interior designers. His landscape and still life paintings have been exhibited at James Harvey British Art in Chelsea, Browse and Darby in Cork Street and at the Chelsea Art Society. He has toured with TRHs The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall as the official artist of their tour of Spain, Portugal and Morocco in 2011 and his paintings are held in the Royal Collection.
Inspired by the ‘plein air’ oil sketches of Constable, Corot, Leighton and Nicholson he is also influenced by the Scottish Colourists with their more intense extraction of colour through tonal planning and outline. Above all he aims for unaffected freshness by working swiftly from nature. “I try to capture fleeting interaction of colour with colour and with light and composition”.
Alistair was brought up in Dorset and Hampshire and enjoys holidays in the West Country, East Anglia, Scotland, France and Italy as well as fishing on the Test and Avon which have all featured in much of his work.
